Christ VS The Brain.

On average, a person could have over 6000 thoughts a day. Always thinking, processing, assessing, reevaluating, imagining and so much more in just one day. On the other hand, we have our Father, who created us in His image and likness designed the brain for us. Somewhere along the line came in a rift that divided us from Him. This allowed decay in our spirital mind and more importantly, gave room to an old defeated enemy. Notice, I said, old defeated enemy because now we are unified in Christ. Is it that simple or is there more to it?

Health Conditions.

I need our focus to be on a woman whose name is not known. She had a health issue for years; bleeding for more than a decade. This case is on the extreme level both physically and mentally. This must have been very taxing on her because the hemorrhage increased her chances of death. What do you think she felt for all those years? I believe she went to a various doctors, in search of a cure. It must have been a burden considering the continuous flow, transportation methods of that time, cultural beliefs and probably financial strain to keep up with her bills. You get the picture.

Many of us including myself, would have given up long before the 5th year because it is easy to be swallowed by the frustration of circumstances. Undoubtedly, some would have gone into depression and even contemplated suicide. The overwhelming feeling of not being in control of your life is scary. And more so when you feel like you are slipping inside a rabbit hole full of darkness. You feel like there is no way out. I’m sure this lady felt the same way. The isolation must have been extreme which meant, no friends and public humiliation. She had to shout “unclean” so that everyone would literally avoid contact with her. It was a painful and lonely road.

Wrong puzzle piece.

The public relations department in the commercial world finds tantalizing ways to advertise their products. It’s easier for us to reach and grab the product from the shelves since we are inclined to them. Similarly, the more our brains entertain the thoughts of loneliness and defeat, the easier it becomes to give up on ourselves, cling to old habits of abuse. The emptiness that’s inside us grows when we fill it with the wrong things. We all know what those are.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10

The Christ.

Someone going through all this may feel tremendous guilt and shame to accept the love of Christ, or a defeat that has squashed all hopes and dreams of living. I am here to say that Christ STILL wants you. Obviously He does love you because He paid in the most gruesome way imaginable. One is never to far from Christ no matter what one did. Remember that we are all made in God’s image which means we are carrying an essence of Him in us. He came all the way for you. Will you know deny Him and the beautiful things He has for you when He’s standing right in front of you? All you have to do is take the step. That’s it and your life changes for the better. Christ is the only piece that will plug the black hole in your soul.

and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Colossians 2:10

In conclusion, as for the woman with the issue of blood, I salute her. She had not given up. Life was hitting her left right but she still found a way to Christ because He came all the way. Can you feel the joy she felt after she felt His power coursing through her veins? Her day of healing had come, Christ had stabilized her life! She now had joy, victory and a healed body, her old life now a closed chapter. I bet she got a job, regained her dignity, got friends in class and maybe a potential partner too. There’s nothing too difficult for the Lord.

‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.

Jeremiah 33:6
