The many ways in which we affect one another daily is through interactions. It is easy to overlook the basic principles of these interactions having in mind things we have to deal with. This can lead to frustrations and rubbing shoulders that sabotages our everyday relationships. We can feel it in our work places, gyms, schools and even the church because there’s an ugly stirring wrecking havoc that is completely unseen. Often times we forget about it and focus all our energy on each other instead. This unseen stirring is ripping away the fabric of society, the fabric of the body of Christ.
A Great Friend and Me.
The number one support system of the believer is the Holy Spirit. He was promised to us by Christ before He ascended. A helper to guide us in our everyday activities. He is a voice of wisdom and encouragement to those who let Him minister to them. Above all, a great friend suited to help us no matter what the problem is. Personally, I have encountered Him. Sometimes, I feel amazed that a being so much older than the universe has an interest to help me in my routines. If not for Him, I would still have lots of pent up negativity just waiting to explode. In short, He is a helper who knows exactly what you need and how to guide you through life. The reason I’m emphasising this is because, there are so many other options we have created for ourselves to “help” us in our walk with Christ. There are some that are indoctrinated with false teaching. Now, how will the christian know if he/she doesn’t pick up the Bible and speak with God?
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Let me not digress too much, the point is the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the church has far more potential than we see today. I find it interesting that Christ said that the latter church will perform more amazing miracles than He did in John 14:12 yet, we have more false prophets now than we did 500 years ago.
Society and Me.
Having understood, the person of the Holy Spirit and how his relationship is vital for personal growth in the Word, we can see how to interact with others. We can all agree that not all of us get along. Having differences in football affiliations, places of worship and even cultural divergency, rubs shoulders too often. There’s a lot of tension and boiling emotions in our communities today. As children of God, its not only recommended but a requirement to show the peace of Christ. After all, we are saved and redeemed in His blood. Before anything else, we are a royal priesthood and a chosen generation.
Moreover, Christ calls us to emulate Him. Remember on the armour, the shoes are the Gospel of peace? Hinting that anywhere we go, the peace of God to reign. If you have read the previously written articles, you know who is responsible for the ugly stirring and what to do. Having that in mind, making sure that as individuals, we are right with God, doing our best (for a righteous man is only a sinner who decided to rise up again on the path, Proverbs 24:16) to listen for the Holy Spirit and watching our interactions with one another, creates a beautiful aroma even to God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Matthew 5:9
Not just any cloak.
My mom is a designer and has been for more than 20 years now. As her experiences accumulates, she’s able to tell a lot about a fabric just by the touch and which design it can make. She also has an eye for the most beautiful fabrics. She’s never one to pick a colorful fabric but one day she did. This particular one had all colors on it in an interesting way. So what I wrote off, she saw value in, saying the colors complement each other very well. I saw the truth in that as I see it now. As a society, our fabric is just as colorful and beautiful together and it can remain this way, when the peace of God reigns in our homes, daycares, malls, churches and even in our lives, when we listen to the Holy Spirit.
The Bible says that when two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus, He is there. Imagine what can happen when an entire community comes together in faith?! A little heaven on earth. I know I’m not the only one yearning for this. I’m here to encourage us that having the Holy Spirit guiding us, this is very much possible. Come on! greater signs shall we do! He will constantly protect us from the negative thoughts and help us to help each other, minister to one another as we grow together. We need healing and Christ already payed the price, we only have to APPLY it in our lives.
Stay blessed and stay safe 🙂
