In Between The Lines.

Adam and Eve.

The story of the first couple is well known. In Genesis 1, God sets the stage for the garden of Eden. He is satisfied with his creation after every manifestation. When God created us, He had a friendship in mind. An extension of His own that can act on its own free will. Moreover, He goes ahead and tells us we are in charge, we can fill the earth, don’t eat a certain fruit and we are also vegeterians (Gen 1:29-30)

Apart from being taught about boundaries, Adam was in fellowship with God to know his purpose and dominion. A habit was built inside of him: meditation with the Lord. Adam must have questioned who he was and why he was there and God gave him that purpose. No one else can give us the answers we are looking for except our creator.

Consequences.

Every choice that we make, affects the immediate reality we live in. When we break the rules, there is a formula that’s also broken and thereby causes a shift. Because what once was cannot seamlessly run as before. The two things that were directly cursed by God are the snake and the ground. Adam and Eve are spared but the punishment is just as dire. Read that again. Carrying a non-existent burden of a curse and shame is not what we are meant to be. Despite disobedience, He did not curse us then. The guilt and pain is a burden the enemy wants us to carry around as if we don’t know the truth.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed

John 8:36

I had an interesting discussion with my dad about Adam and Eve. It’s correct to say there’s a part of this story I had no idea about. In Genesis 3:22, God acknowledges that Adam and Eve now know what is good and evil which can only mean we only saw good before then, right?

And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Genesis 3:22

Dad pointed out a revelation I just need to share with you guys. If you noticed this, God bless you and I pray you get even more revelations from His word 🙂

God put out the two because of A. He does not mix with sin but more importantly, B. the tree of life, more so immortality was right there too. God had to move Adam and Eve out of the garden because if they ate the tree of good and evil, the human race would have been damned forever. Even though we may never be able to understand the ways of God, one thing is true. His actions to constantly love us add up.

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Victory!

When I look at Adam and Eve, I don’t see a mistake or a family thrown out of their home into hardship. I see the results of deception and the beginning of a long journey to the redemption of man. Has there ever been a moment in your life when you felt God was not on your side? I have news: What He begins in your life is always for your good because He was working in the background.

He sees what you cannot see and having faith in Him communicates that you acknowledge Him. Adam and Eve may not have understood then but today, we do. Thank you, Jesus! Refuse to live a defeated life! Trust in His ability to change the situation even when things look bleak. Allow Him to work and be patient. God did not curse us: we broke the formula and got sinful nature instead. a nature that Christ has redeemed us from. We are from a chosen generation, of course, the defeated enemy will not be happy with us. We stand on the victory of Jesus Christ because His blood sets us free!
