A name, something so small and yet so profound. An epitome of who we are. The very identity to ourselves and with Christ, we are able to become who are supposed to be.
As a christian, I’ve encountered lots of weird nicknames. Many of which I had dismissed at the time. First of, imagine you are expecting a parcel but you never get it. Inquries from the courier company, report it’s delivered. By the time the location mix up is corrected, you are in a mess. It’s happened before. Tell me this, if location is vital, how much more a name? How much more who you are?
Somethings we take lightly not knowing the repercussions in the spiritual realm. Desensitization of the realms makes us dull to changes that affect our lives greatly. Growing up, we go through the self-discovery journey and it’s essential to bind ourselves with Christ.
What are we facing?
There’s the obvious war that’s going on spiritually but I like to make it more practical so it’s easier to apply. The bible says that the enemy comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. In this case he’s stealing our names, killing our passion for Christ and destroying any hope of any Word growing in our hearts. How does he do this? He insists on suffocating us with what we are not. And amplify our weaknesses.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
All those negative thoughts can change when we put our feet down and declare enough is enough. Whatever the enemy is using to hold us down is dead, he’s only using them to trap us in the past and make us loose sight of what we are preparing for ahead.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
What I am.
You are fearfully (find synonyms) and wonderfully made according to Psalms 139:14. Lord I thank you because I know that I am a more than conqueror through you Jesus in Romans 8:37. I believe that my family and friends are blessed because in Ephesians 1:3 You say you have blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. I know that I am protected from the lies and schemes from the enemy because You said in Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon forged against me will prevail, and You will refute every tongue that accuses me.This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is our vindication from You. I am who you say I am, In Jesus Name, Amen.
